MHFA England Youth Training

Supporting young people struggling with mental health

Young people are struggling with mental health in record numbers.

As a qualified MHFA trainer, I deliver Youth Mental Health First Aid courses to organisations that work with young people aged 8 – 18.

Supporting schools, youth clubs, charities, community groups, social workers and carers across the region and beyond, it’s my role to provide them with the skills and confidence needed to recognise issues, provide the right level of support and react in the best way.

The benefits of training

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a two-day course, designed to help anyone working with children to improve their understanding about mental health issues amongst young people.

Those who complete the course gain invaluable knowledge, competence and confidence in taking the right actions when it comes to supporting children with mental health issues:

  • Spot the warning signs and symptoms of a range of common mental health issues
  • Know when to take action, and what actions to take
  • Guide individuals to the right support resources
  • Create mentally healthy, supportive environments

Stepping in early and taking the right, appropriate action can make all the difference – preventing issues from becoming more serious, speeding up recovery and reducing the chances of harm.
